Marketing 101

Ok... For the last few days it's REALLY come to my attention how often we (as in the general public) are being advertised to, sold to, etc. And it's really starting to become unbearable.

Being a designer, making ugly stuff look appealing is part of what I do, but there's a way to interest people in what you're selling without sounding like a friggin' used car dealer or Amway salesman (I can say that because my dad was both).

Dad tought me that the definition of marketing was: Me, making you want something that I have, yet making you think it was your idea." I wish the gurus in the advertising biz would get that.
